Stephan Hendrick is doctor in Clinical psychology and psychotherapist. Trained in family therapy with Edith Tilmans and clinical hypnosis with Eric Mairlot in Belgium, he won a scholarship to study at the Mental Research Institute in Palo Alto with Paul Watzlawick and Dick Fisch. Associate Professor at the University of Mons in Belgium, where he teaches subjects related to systemic field, he worked in various fields of psychiatry and youth assistance. He now heads the department of Systemic and psychodynamic clinical psychology.
He served in both ambulatory and institutional contexts, in particular, in a psychiatric hospital where he worked with psychotic patients and their families. His research is currently focusing on the processes of change in human systems, family and multifamily therapy efficacy assessement, traumatic and stress disorder and resilience. He is currently expert in an international research group headed by Boris Cyrulnik.
