The Research Center in Information Technologies focuses on the technologies for sensing, formatting, transmitting, processing and exploiting data, signals and information. Its expertise covers a wide multidisciplinary range of technological resources including electronics (hardware development, microelectronics), computer science, and transmission systems such as telecommunication networks.
Historically, the research center emerged from a cooperation of several departments of the University, joining forces to address the needs of large scale research projects in a more comprehensive manner. Significant highlights include:
The Information Technologies Research Center today brings together a critical mass of more than 60 full-time equivalent researchers, to which can be added more that 40 people from MULTITEL and more than 40 from CETIC.
