Making following the modifications of the structures of higher education and academic, the members of the RHESU (Réseau Hainuyer of University educations and Academics), de facto association created in 2002) wished to evolve in the short run to an integrated and autonomous of public higher education and university pole in Hainaut, articulating itself around Université of Mons.This evolution passes by the transformation of the RHESU into the asbl Hainaut higher education consortium in which each entity keeps its autonomy and its specificities. This asbl will give itself the means of better ensuring and of extending the goals which the RHESU currently pursues.

Association has as an aim the constitution of an integrated and autonomous structure of higher education associated with Université with Mons.The current components of the RHESU propose a coherent and very broad offer of Bachelor's degrees, Masters and doctoral degrees and thus play their essential part of social elevator for the young people of the province of Hainaut which, although the most populated, still currently has a rate of access to the weakest higher education by far of Communauté Frenchwoman.
She thus intends to develop to with it collaboration between Higher Education Institutions, academic or except university, likely to promote an higher education and varied academic, of quality and proximity as well as the defense of the public character of the course, her values and her independence.
