UMONS Vice-Rector awarded  Grand Prix from French National Polymer Association

On 19th November 2013, Professor Philippe Dubois, Vice-Rector for Research at UMONS, was awarded the Grand Prix from the French National Polymer Association (GPF).

This prestigious award is presented every two years by the French National Polymer Association, created in late 1970 and whose main mission is to promote the development of polymers in higher education and research institutions as well as within the French industrial fabric sector.

The Grand Prix was awarded to Professor Dubois on Tuesday 19th November during a ceremony at the ENSAIT (Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Industries Textiles Roubaix), which hosted the GFP’s annual meeting. This conference is the most eminent French congresses in the field of polymers. This year, the conference was organised in partnership with our colleagues/Belgian partners, hence the title GFP- BPG 2013.

The main objective of GFP-BPG 2013 was to bring together 200 researchers from different backgrounds, countries, universities, public research institutions and industries for a few days to make a state of the art for the latest advances in the field of polymers.

The Grand Prix is designed to reward the career or a series of projects of a French or foreign researcher whose technical or scientific contribution in the field of polymers merits special recognition. As regards foreign researchers, they must have been in close interaction with the French community during their careers.
