Experience a cultural and linguistic exchange at UMONS thanks to TANDEMONS, an initiative of the International Office, the Centre for Modern Languages and the Faculty of Translation and Interpretation.

What is it?

International exchange students can be sponsored by UMONS students who will help them integrate into our university, but also discover Belgium. In exchange, students from UMONS will have the opportunity to know a new culture and to learn or improve a foreign language.

If you’re feeling adventurous …

You will find useful information about this on the International Office's website.

To whom is the Translation Tandem Learning addressed?

If you are studying languages and translation/interpretation at your home university and are interested in developing your translation techniques and metalinguistic reflection in a different way, we invite you to pair up with an FTI student and take part in this project during your Erasmus year in Mons. You can either enter the project with your sponsor (if you have one) or with another FTI student..

How does it work?

Similarly to the partnership, the Language and Translation Tandem is based on the fundamental principles of interpersonal Relationship and reciprocity. However, it is more specifically translation-oriented, with activities suited to develop and stimulate your cultural and linguistic awareness. We will assist you in finding the best match for engaging in this experience. At FTI EII we will do our best to ensure that you will find all activities rewarding, and help you take your language and translation skills to a higher level..

How can I join? Or how can I learn more?
